We are seeking an Optometric Technician who is dedicated to providing excellent patient care in the field of eye health. This position involves conducting a variety of tests and measurements, managing patient records, and assisting with the daily operations of a medical office.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary optical tests including measurements of visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and visual field testing.
- Record patient medical histories and manage this information within an electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Support contact lens fittings and provide patients with instructions on the correct usage and care of their lenses.
- Carry out diagnostic procedures such as tonometry, retinal imaging, and visual field tests.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-organized.
- Administer tests such as visual acuities and slit lamp evaluations directly in the exam rooms.
- Educate patients on eye health practices, addressing any queries or concerns they might have.
- Handle front desk responsibilities, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing.
- Oversee the inventory of optical supplies and assist with the procurement as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical or optical office setting is preferred.
- Keen attention to detail with a proven ability to accurately conduct tests and measurements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on exceptional patient care.
- Efficient multitasking and task prioritization abilities in a dynamic environment.
Compensation
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
- Hourly pay range: $18.00 – $23.00.
Position Details
- Job Types: Full-time, Part-time.
- Expected hours: 36 per week.
- Typical schedule includes day shifts from Monday to Friday, with weekend shifts as required.
- This is an in-person role.
